The Koa Tree Project believes in the power of the next generation to create and continue wonderful change in this world. Our programmes aim to connect children and young adults with nature and farming, and through this to encourage a holistic and deep understandings of our place and our impact on the environment around us.
Happy Acorns Forest School
Happy Acorns Forest School has it's enchanting site in the Wild Woods at The Koa Tree Project. The Forest School is run by Tracy who shares her love of the outdoors, welcoming attitude and love of exploration with all those who visit. Happy Acorns encompasses all the values of The Koa Tree Project, it encourages a deeper connection with, and understanding of nature through experimentation, free play and self-exploration.
Tracy is a level three Forest School Leader under the Forest School Association, she runs sessions for a range of ages of abilities and aimed at exploring free play, child led learning and encouraging a deeper connection with nature.
Tracy offers one open attendance day a week, available to all 5-13 year olds who wish to join for a chance to run in the woods, these sessions are particularly popular with local home school families in the Bideford, Hartland and Bude areas. For times and to sign up please see our Facebook page
Local School Groups and Programmes
We can work with local school groups of all ages to work out a tailored programme to meet your needs. These can include Forest School sessions, time spent in our community garden and sessions working with some of our livestock. We can accommodate groups of up to 15 children at a time.
